In this type of work, it is important to precisely define the scenario in which the valuation is considered: whether or not the machinery will continue to operate (continued use), whether or not it will remain in the same location, the conditions of the purchase/sale (liquidation scenario, transfer of assets between companies in the same corporate group, etc.)
The value determined is the market value, which will be calculated taking into account all the aspects mentioned above. In most cases it will be necessary to inquire about the performance of the second-hand market for similar equipment.
The type of end client can be as varied as the assets to be valued: groups of companies needing to transfer assets between them, financing companies needing to sell assets from failed businesses, companies interested in buying/selling their assets.
